Parking
Facilities

The University maintains various types of parking facilities to meet
the needs of students, faculty, staff, and visitors. These include
regular permit lots and decks, gated and card-controlled lots and
restricted assigned spaces.
University Deck I, located at
200 University Ave.,
Washington Deck II, located
at 166 Washington Street (across from the Golden Dome Gymnasium),
is available to students and authorized visitors.
FACULTY/STAFF LOTS are available
to eligible faculty and staff by assignment only. Each lot requires
annual purchase of parking permit, hangtag and sticker in order
for ID to be activated for access to lot. Departments are granted
a maximum allocation annually based on space availability. Acquisition
of a faculty/staff permit does not guarantee the registrant a parking
space; parking is available on a first-come, first-served basis.
University affiliates are not exempt from permit purchase. All lots
are accessible with card access. Summer time attendant schedule
for Bradley Lot (Mon-Fri 8am-4pm) and CLJ Lot (Mon-Fri 7:30am-6pm)
Eagle and Essex Lots will not have attendants for the summer.
HANDICAP AREAS are designated
with appropriate signage and stalls ground-marked with wheelchair
symbols. Designated spaces may be used by University handicap permit
holders, or by visitors displaying state handicap vehicle ID/plates,
and the appropriate visitor permit.
STREET METERS are regulated by
the City of Newark and may vary in rates and time limits.
