EZ-Ride Car Share:
The EZ-Ride car share program, a service that permits commuters to travel "green" and retain the freedom of mobility while making the sacrifice to leave their personal vehicle at home, has enjoyed much success here at the Rutgers-Newark campus over the past year. However, there is always room for improvement. Thus, the Commuter Transit and Parking Services office has negotiated a dual use for the Hybrid Honda Accord located at the Plaza Parking Lot behind the Dana Library. Individual membership is always available for personal use of the vehicle as expected, but did you know that Rutgers-Newark faculty and staff may now access the vehicle for business use? RU-N Easy Pass:
Students have requested easier, faster entry and exit from the parking facilities. The Commuter Transit and Parking Services has implemented an electronic permit reading system that will allow students to enter without having to deal with the attendants and without having to write their RUID or permit number on the parking stub. Easy Cycling:
Rutgers-Newark Wants You to be a Trend Setter! Express the spirit and energy of the new generation. Commuting "green" is the environmentally conscious wave of the future that will help preserve our planet. Therefore, Rutgers-Newark encourages all students, faculty, and staff to do their part. Whenever possible, ride a bicycle to campus. For those that live a considerable distance, NJ TRANSIT permits bicycles on its trains during off-peak transit hours, whereby you can bicycle to the train station near your home, take your bicycle on the train, and resume bicycling to the Rutgers-Newark campus. In effort to assist those who absolutely cannot indulge themselves in a cycling commute, Rutgers-Newark has a bicycling program that will enable you to "rent" a bike with nothing more than an RUID card so that you may enjoy the benefits of bicycling while on the campus.
