EZ-Ride Carsharing

Rutgers-Newark Partners with Meadowlink
to provide EZ Ride car share on campus

Meadowlink is a nonprofit, state sponsored, commuter service organization.

About the car:

Location: Designated parking stall on the RN plaza parking lot next to Dana Library.
Car is a 2008 Hybrid Honda Accord with satellite radio and AC.
Registration is purely electronic – reserve on website.
Use of the car requires reservation, smart card, user-number, and pin
Community car; therefore, cleanliness, refueling, and reportable observations are required.

Individual membership available for personal use:

You must have a valid driver’s license and be over 21 years old.
An initial $25 fee will be charged to cover the costs of checking your driving records and processing.
You must be an EZ-Ride CarShare Member to operate one of the vehicles.

The Annual Membership fee ($50) is WAIVED FOR THE FIRST 50 RUTGERS NEWARK MEMBERS
Security Deposit ($100) will be collected at the time of signing the membership agreement.
You will be issued your Smart Card, User-Number & PIN once approved.

Rental Rates:

All rates include gas and insurance

Hourly:	$10/hour up to 150 miles	additional miles:	.25/mile
Daily:	$75/day up to 200 miles	additional miles:	.25/mile

A gas credit card is provided in the glove box of the EZ-Ride vehicle. Should the vehicle require refueling, simply take the vehicle to any Exxon gas station and present the card. The 4-digit PIN for the gas card assigned to the EZ-Ride vehicle will be the number located on the vehicle's rear bumper followed by a zero.

Department model for business use only:

No overhead cost required. Only cost to the department is the rental rate structure listed above when used

All drivers must be approved by Meadowlink.

Departments must maintain an approved driver's list.

Department will be provided one Smart Card once the first driver is approved.

Departments must not allow a non-approved person to drive the vehicle with the department card. An unapproved driver will be held personally liable for any and all damages should an unfortunate event take place.
