Parking Facilities

The University maintains various types of parking facilities to meet the needs of students, faculty, staff, and visitors. These include regular permit lots and decks, gated and card-controlled lots and restricted assigned spaces.

UNIVERSITY DECK I, located at 200 University Avenue is available to students and authorized visitors.

WASHINGTON DECK II, located at 166 Washington Street (across from the Golden Dome Gymnasium), is available to students and authorized visitors.

EAGLE EAST & WEST, entrance located at Burnett Street near the corner of Orange Street, is available to students and authorized visitors. This facility is a "surface" lot and is the most convenient lot for students visiting the new Rutgers Business School at 1 Washington Park.

FACULTY/STAFF LOTS are available to eligible faculty and staff with valid permits only. Each lot requires an annual purchase of a parking permit, hangtag and sticker, in order for the ID to be activated for lot access. Departments are granted a maximum allocation annually based on space availability. Acquisition of a faculty/staff permit does not guarantee the registrant a parking space; parking is available on a first-come, first-served basis. University affiliates are not exempt from permit purchase. Fall and Spring Semester attendant schedule for the Bradley Lot is Mon-Thurs 8:00am-9:30pm, Essex Lot Mon-Thurs 8:30am-10:00pm/Fri 8:30am-4:30pm, and CLJ Lot Mon-Thurs 7:30am-12:00 Midnight/Fri 7:30am-4:00pm.

HANDICAP AREAS are designated with appropriate signage and stalls ground-marked with wheelchair symbols. Designated spaces may be used by University handicap permit holders, or by visitors displaying state handicap vehicle ID/plates, and the appropriate visitor permit.

STREET METERS are regulated by the City of Newark and may vary in rates and time limits.
