On June 18th, 2015, the Rutgers University Board of Governors approved the Physical Master Plan for the university. The completed plan provides a vision for what the future campuses might look like in 15 to 20 years. The university is now embarking on a series of additional planning efforts to delve deeper into various key areas to better understand the infrastructure improvements and operational changes that need to happen to advance the vision. These processes will examine in more detail the goals, recommendations, and projects specified in the Physical Master Plan and generate a plan that addresses current and long-term needs at Rutgers University-Newark and Rutgers Biomedical and Health Sciences (RBHS)-Newark.
Active participation and feedback from the university community are essential to a successful master planning initiative. There are many opportunities to take part in the planning process this spring, including Pop-Up Planning events, Planning Public Forums and the annual Transportation Survey.
