The Hill Hall (504A), Smith Hall (504B) and 20 parking spots at Bradley (508) will be CLOSED on Wednesday, 8, 2017 and will REOPEN on Thursday, February 9, 2017 for the Rutgers Board of Governors meeting. All Rutgers Faculty and Staff utilizing the Hill Hall and Smith Hall parking lots are advised to use alternative parking lots: MEC (502),Essex (506) and *Deck 3 garage located at 180 Washington St. corner Raymond Blvd (access card required).

Employees should therefore use alternative routes to park at any of the above-mentioned locations. We apologize for the inconvenience.

Commuters with active Prepaid RUN Pass permit or Zone L permit can park at our latest student parking located at 272 New Street (Between Lock St. and Wilsey St.) immediately. Commuters with a Pay-As-You-Go permits must come to the Parking Office and upgrade your permit for a one-time fee of $70 to cover the rest of the year at the “New Street Lot”. There is no daily fee at the lot.

The RUN RUN, Campus Connect and Penn Station Local shuttle bus has stops near this lot In addition, this lot is also easily walked through the NJIT campus (7 minute walk from the Lot to PRCC).

NJ Transit Discount

Rutgers Full-time Students: Get on Board with a 25 percent Discount on New Jersey Transit Monthly Passes

Rutgers University full-time undergraduate and graduate students (12 or more credits) are eligible to receive a rail, bus, and light rail monthly pass at 25 percent off the regular monthly pass price, when they enroll online through NJ TRANSIT's Quik-Tik program (students must use this link to get the discount). The Quick-Tik program offers the convenience of auto-pay combined with online account management.

  • Students must purchase the monthly pass online by the 10th day of the previous month; for example, if the next available monthly pass for a Rutgers-Newark student is September, then the pass must be ordered prior to August 10th.
  • All students must re-register with NJ TRANSIT after May 30th. On May 30th of each year, NJ TRANSIT purges all student accounts in effort to update each student's current status with Rutgers.
  • NJ TRANSIT applies a $3.00 non-refundable electronic processing fee each month, in addition to the fare for the pass.
  • Students who wish to purchase a discounted monthly rail pass without incurring the electronic processing fee can do so using the paper forms that are available at rail station ticket windows. To opt out of the program altogether, students should simply cancel their account before 10th day of the current month.
  • Students electing to participate in this program agree that the monthly pass is for their exclusive use only. Each student is eligible to receive one discounted monthly pass per month. Passes are non-transferable. Please be aware that Student Pass accounts are reviewed by NJ TRANSIT to ensure compliance with eligibility requirements.
  • Student discounts are only available for transportation between your home address and school address. Discounted Student Passes are not available for other origins or destinations. If your selection does not meet these eligibility requirements, your order will not be processed and your account will be disabled. At that time, you will have the opportunity to convert your account to a standard (non-discounted) Quik-Tik account.
  • Abuse or purposeful deception is discouraged and will result in the cancellation of the student's monthly pass account. The student will then be unable to participate in the program in the future. This forfeiture also applies to any other student who is knowingly involved.
