Please be advised that Deck 2 is scheduled to close for the summer break starting Saturday, May 13, 2017 at 7:00 am. Kindly move your vehicle and park at any of the Resident parking stalls at Deck 1. Deck 2 will resume operations on Wednesday, August 23, 2017 at 7:00 am.
 
ALL RESIDENT PERMIT HOLDERS MUST MOVE THEIR VEHICLES TO DECK 1 BEFORE THE SCHEDULED CLOSING OF DECK 2.

Renewal or NEW  Prepaid RUN-Pass permits for the summer semester will only be available at the office, Blumenthal Hall Suite 105  starting on Monday, May 22, 2017. 

Pay-As-U-Go  parking permit is available online. 

We accept cash, check and all major credit cards except American Express. 

 

Commuters with active Prepaid RUN Pass permit or Zone L permit can park at our latest student parking located at 272 New Street (Between Lock St. and Wilsey St.) immediately. Commuters with a Pay-As-You-Go permits must come to the Parking Office and upgrade your permit for a one-time fee of $70 to cover the rest of the year at the “New Street Lot”. There is no daily fee at the lot.

The RUN RUN, Campus Connect and Penn Station Local shuttle bus has stops near this lot http://rudots.rutgers.edu/nwktransport.shtml. In addition, this lot is also easily walked through the NJIT campus (7 minute walk from the Lot to PRCC).

STARTING MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 1ST, 2014, RUTGERS NEWARK WILL HAVE A NEW UNIVERSITY TRANSIT SYSTEM.

Refund Policy

Requests for refunds must be submitted in writing to the Office of Parking and Commuter Services and must be accompanied by documented evidence of withdrawal from the university. Hangtags (permit and sticker) along with the completed refund form must be returned to the Office of Parking and Commuter Services. A new permit must be purchased when returning to the University.
No refund request will be considered unless a full payment was received for parking and any outstanding fines have been paid in full.

 

Student Full Refunds

Full refunds will only be granted to commuter and resident students within the first two weeks of the fall semester and may be made under one of the following conditions:

  • Complete withdrawal from all classes within the first two weeks of the beginning of the Fall semester entitles the student to a full refund. A completed refund request form accompanied by proper documentation from the Registrar's office must be submitted within those first two weeks.
  • Special Programs course cancellation. A written refund request must be submitted within thirty days of course cancellation.
  • Summer session students desiring a full refund must withdraw from all summer classes prior to the first day of classes for the 1st Summer session. Documentation from the Registrar's office must accompany the completed refund request form.

 

Student 50-Percent Refunds

Only resident students who have purchased an annual or academic year permit may request a 50-percent refund under one of the following conditions:

  • Complete withdrawal from all classes at any time after the first two weeks of the Fall semester and continuing through to the second week of classes for the Spring semester entitles a student to a 50% refund. A completed refund request form accompanied by proper documentation from the Registrar's office must be submitted no later than February 1st of the respective academic year.
  • Students attending only the Fall semester of the academic year must submit a written refund request no later than the 1st business day of January of the current year.
  • Summer session students intending to receive a partial (50%) refund must withdraw from all classes prior to the end of the ADD/DROP period for the 1st Summer session as established by the Registrar's office. Documentation from the Registrar's office must accompany the completed refund request form.

 

Faculty/Staff 50-percent Refunds

Requests may be made under one of the following conditions:

  • Departure from the university within the first six months of the permit year. Written verification of resignation or termination is required to be submitted to Parking and Commuter Services.
  • Sabbatical from the University. Employees who will be absent from the university for sabbatical leave, after July 1 of the permit year, should contact the Office of Parking and Commuter Services at 973-353-1839 prior to their leave.
