Refund Policy

Requests for refunds must be submitted in writing to the Office of
Parking and Commuter Services and must be accompanied by documented
evidence of withdrawal from the university. Hangtags (permit and
sticker) along with the completed refund form must be returned to
the Office of Parking and Commuter Services. A new permit must
be purchased when returning to the University.
No refund request will be considered unless a full payment was
received for parking and any outstanding fines have been paid in full.
Student Full Refunds
Full refunds will only be granted to commuter and resident students
within the first two weeks of the fall semester and may be made under
one of the following conditions:
- Withdrawal from all classes
completed within two weeks of the beginning of the fall semester. A
written refund request must be made within those first two weeks.
- Special Programs course
cancellation. A written refund request must be made within thirty
days of course cancellation.
Student 50-Percent Refunds
Only resident students who have purchased an annual or academic year
contract may request a 50-percent refund under one of the following
conditions:
- Withdrawal from all classes
completed two weeks after the beginning of the fall semester and
until the second week of spring semester. A written refund request
must be made no later than February 1 of the current year.
- Attending only the fall semester of
the academic year. A written refund request must be made no later
than 1st business day of June of the current year.
Faculty/Staff 50-percent Refunds
Requests may be made under one of the following conditions:
- Departure from the university within
the first six months of the permit year. Written verification
of resignation or termination is required to be submitted to Parking
and Commuter Services.
- Sabbatical from the University.
Employees who will be absent from the university for sabbatical
leave, after July 1 of the permit year, should contact the Office
of Parking and Commuter Services at 973-353-1839 prior to their
leave.
