Parking Permit for Vendors

Rutgers University hires many contractors and/or vendors to perform work or conduct business at the Newark campus.  These contractors and/or vendors can purchase a parking permit based on the contract awarded to the contractor and/or vendor.

Contractors and/or vendors must register for a vendor permit which costs $200 plus tax, per year for one permit.  The permit is valid for one year from the date of purchase and can be assigned to alternative company vehicles. Only one company vehicle with the displayed permit will be allowed to park on campus at one point in time.

The Vendor permit allows the contractor and/or vendor to park in the loading zones near the Rutgers buildings wherein they are required to work. The minimum charge for a Vendor permit would be a pro-rata monthly rate of $17.83  (includes tax).

Contractor's/Vendor's Employee Registering Personal Vehicle

A contractor or vendor who are driving their personal vehicle to campus must purchase a Non-Affiliate permit if vendor has a longt term contract that may require frequent visits to campus. The Non-Affiliate permit is $180/year plus tax and can only be prorated starting July 1 at 50% off the regular rate. Vendor must show copy of contract with Rutgers University or letter of endorsement from the sponsoring department . Transient vendors driving private vehicles must pre- register prior to day of visit and can park  and pay regular parking fee at Deck 3 (180 Washington St). Personal vehicles of the contractors and/or vendor's employees  ARE NOT entitled to park in loading zones.
