Please be advised that Deck 2 is scheduled to close for the summer break starting Saturday, May 13, 2017 at 7:00 am. Kindly move your vehicle and park at any of the Resident parking stalls at Deck 1. Deck 2 will resume operations on Wednesday, August 23, 2017 at 7:00 am.
 
ALL RESIDENT PERMIT HOLDERS MUST MOVE THEIR VEHICLES TO DECK 1 BEFORE THE SCHEDULED CLOSING OF DECK 2.

Renewal or NEW  Prepaid RUN-Pass permits for the summer semester will only be available at the office, Blumenthal Hall Suite 105  starting on Monday, May 22, 2017. 

Pay-As-U-Go  parking permit is available online. 

We accept cash, check and all major credit cards except American Express. 

 

Commuters with active Prepaid RUN Pass permit or Zone L permit can park at our latest student parking located at 272 New Street (Between Lock St. and Wilsey St.) immediately. Commuters with a Pay-As-You-Go permits must come to the Parking Office and upgrade your permit for a one-time fee of $70 to cover the rest of the year at the “New Street Lot”. There is no daily fee at the lot.

The RUN RUN, Campus Connect and Penn Station Local shuttle bus has stops near this lot http://rudots.rutgers.edu/nwktransport.shtml. In addition, this lot is also easily walked through the NJIT campus (7 minute walk from the Lot to PRCC).

STARTING MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 1ST, 2014, RUTGERS NEWARK WILL HAVE A NEW UNIVERSITY TRANSIT SYSTEM.

Visitors/University Guests

Visitors

All visitors must be pre-registered in order to use any of the Rutgers parking facilities. Faculty, Staff and Students are not considered to be visitors.

Departments hosting an event such as workshops, seminars, meets/conferences, etc., are required to contact the Department of Transportation Services (DOTS) by sending an email to info_dots@ipo.rutgers.edu during the planning stages so that visitor parking arrangements can be made.

1. Date and Time of visit
2. Guest name(s)
3. Vehicle information which includes state registered, license plate number, make, model and color. If necessary, please include handicap registration and ID of your visitor.
4. If visitor(s) will be provided a validation coupon* (Full Validation or Special Program coupons) or if visitor(s) will be responsible to pay.
5. Event location

It is important that DOTS is notified 24 hours in advance for your visitors to avoid a parking citation for “No Permit Displayed” while parked at any of the Rutgers, University, Newark campus parking facilities. Departments can prevent the embarrassment and inconvenience of citations by pre-registering  parking for their visitors.

Visitors are not exempt from violations resulting from improper parking in restricted areas, handicap or fire zones. Violators are subject to towing at their own expense. In all cases, host departments must remain sensitive to the limited University parking facilities available to faculty, staff and students while academic classes are in session.

Event Parking

Departments and organizations requiring parking arrangements for events (with more than 10 attendees) should send an email at least three (3) days prior to the scheduled event to event_parking@ipo.rutgers.edu  with the following information:

1. Name of the event.
2. Number of attendees (please indicate if attendees are paying for their own parking fee or Full Validation coupons would be provided by the event organizers).
3. Date of the event including the start time and end time of the event.
4. Event location

DOTS will communicate with event coordinator the event flyer for distribution to attendees. This event flyer must be displayed on their vehicle dashboard while parked. All Faculty, Staff and Students are not eligible to use event parking flyers as they must have their appropriate permits to use any Rutgers parking facilities. 

Visitor Parking Fees

Visitors, vendors and service personnel conducting business in the Newark campus must obtain their parking arrangements with the department to be visited. Unless a department issues a validation coupon, all visitors will be charged a $12.00 parking fee (tax included) upon exiting the parking facility.

Parking Validations

Validations should only be issued and used by pre-registered visitors (persons not affliated with Rutgers University). Validations can not be used by Faculty, Staff and Students. Any faculty, staff or student found using a validation will be charged the visitor rate of $12.00 upon exit from any Rutgers parking facility. Use of this voucher by students, faculty, staff (including non affiliate volunteers  will result in a citation for fraudulent use of permit.

Departments can purchase Full validation coupons thru Cornerstone (Marketplace)  with item code 920

Special Program coupons are only issued  for academic event functions.To request for Special Program coupons, please email info_dots@ipo.rutgers.edu at least 48 hours prior to event (weekends are excluded).
